Aridaman

Best Micro Creator Award

Aridaman, a staunch advocate for Bharat’s ancient traditions, emphasizes the importance of preserving the rich cultural heritage of traditional attire, specifically the dhoti and upavastra.

At 18, he expresses concern over the gradual forgetting of our glorious history, including the art of draping a dhoti, which symbolizes much more than just clothing but a connection to our roots and identity.

In today’s world, traditional practices such as keeping Shikha (a tuft of hair) and yajnopaveeta (sacred thread) are becoming rare, further distanced by the need for knowledge on wearing our traditional attire.

Aridaman points out that modern practices, like performing pujas and Yajnas in stitched clothes, deviate from traditional norms due to this disconnect, a consequence of historical invasions attempting to dilute Bharat’s rich cultural legacy.

Highlighting the alienation faced by individuals in dhoti in contemporary society, Aridaman calls for a renaissance of our cultural practices.

He believes that by actively wearing traditional attire in daily life and social gatherings, we affirm our identity as a “Living civilization” that continues to thrive.

Our traditions, scriptures, and attire are not relics of the past but living embodiments of our culture and values.

Aridaman encourages exploring and adopting our cultural heritage without forsaking modern values.

He suggests that learning to drape a dhoti, with many online tutorials, is a step towards embracing and preserving our beautiful Indian dressing sense.

Through such practices, we can keep our culture vibrant and alive for future generations, ensuring that the essence of Bharat’s glorious past continues to flourish.
